Our Mission Statement

CatholicPA unites Pennsylvania’s Catholics around what our faith is about, what our dreams and issues are, so that a people who share one Church can speak with one voice in the public square.

“

The true meaning of Catholic comes from the Greek katholikos — “Universal.” The Church for everyone.

This home is built by and for Catholics — the principles at its center, our schools, our families, the freedom to worship, the dignity of every life, belong to every follower of Christ who shares them. More than one in five of our neighbors call Pennsylvania’s 67 counties home, and no county, no parish, no person is left out.

What Does It Mean to Be a Good Catholic?

“As Catholics we are not single‑issue voters.”— USCCB, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, §42

“We should not let the party transform us in such a way that we neglect or deny fundamental moral truths.”— Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, §14

Before any platform, any pope’s remarks, or any election cycle, God already answered this.

  1. I.

“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before my face. You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of what is in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the waters beneath the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them.”

  2. II.

“You shall not carry the name of the LORD your God for falsehood or emptiness, because the LORD will not acquit the one who carries his name for falsehood.”

  3. III.

“Remember the Sabbath day, to make it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. You shall not do any work — you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, your livestock, or the foreign resident within your gates.”

  4. IV.

“Give weight to your father and your mother, so that your days may be long upon the land that the LORD your God is giving you.”

  5. V.

    “You shall not murder.”

  6. VI.

    “You shall not commit adultery.”

  7. VII.

    “You shall not steal.”

  8. VIII.

“You shall not answer against your neighbor as a witness of falsehood.”

  9. IX.

“You shall not desire your neighbor’s house.”

  10. X.

“You shall not desire your neighbor’s wife, his male servant, his female servant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Exodus 20:2–17, translated from the Hebrew. No pope, bishop, or church body endorses any candidate or party — here or anywhere else.
